Bhartec will carefully saw away at the lumbering giants fingers.

Lars's blow neatly severs three of the fingers of the screaming atavism's left hand ... it holds on, knuckles whitening, until Bhartec's industrious carving on its right hand hits bone, at which point it lets go, falling screaming into the black. Its pinky and ring fingers wriggle on the stone for a moment and are still.

Kexy casts her potent bewitchment, and the guards are enveloped in sleep-dust ... all four fall, comatose, to the stone on the other side of the pit.

Except for the rushing of water, the creaking of armor, and your own breathing, the corridor is silent.

Ymmas slings his mace and shield, and loads his crossbow.

He advances slowly and carefully towards the trapdoor, and sidesteps it en route to the sleeping bodies of the guards in the hallway.

Lars kicks the fingers down the pit as well, and advances to the slumbering guards on the side of the pit opposite from Ymmas. "Cover us. With bows and stuff. Case they're faking."

Kexy nocks an arrow and faces the slumbering enemy.

"Someone watch our backs..."

Sinlocah orders one monk to the front and one to the back to keep watch for bad guys.

"Are we going to take prisoners for questioning or simply eliminate them. I doubt we will learn much."

Lars removes first the arms, then the helms, then the heads, of the first three. The fourth, he disarms and then hesitates, looking to the others with simian brow cocked. "Kill him? Or question him?"

Bhartec will momentarily pause and think about where the drinking water for Tegel originates.

[The four guards are stripped and dumped through the trapdoor. I'm assuming they've been looted and you're caching their goods in a corner somewhere, because I don't feel like dealing with the retarded encumbrance from all the suits of plate you're accumulating (which may go to explain why plate is only 50 gp.)

Back to the room where you encountered these guards?]

Lars wants to destroy/deface the altar first. One thing at a time.

Sinlocah and the monks join Lars in a nice brisk workout of destroying the pagan relics. More than like our voices spontaneous burst out in battle hymns.
