I'd encourage you to move us straight to the dungeon sunday night, Scott. I don't want to spend much time roleplaying a character this fragile.

Just for the record, Rule 0.5 of this campaign is "Please do not play a serial rapist."

Bhartec is too cowardly to actually go through with most of the ill-deeds in his head. Most see him simply glowering in the corner rubbing his hands together. I'm mostly conveying that he is not a very nice guy at heart in a just-released-from-the-dungeons sort of way.

No worries, I just don't want the new guy thinking this is a thinly veiled front for a F.A.T.A.L. LARP or Gorean cosplay group.

LOL

I've already been thinking of ways for my *female* character to deal with the lothario...amicably! hehe

And we must remember, Bhartec does have access to Charm Person...

In a dark, gritty fantasy world, is amorous Charming [of the sort that probably led to Kexy's birth] so much different from "Hey, Orc-dude, go kill your friends for me!"?

I just looked both up on the Internet, since the references escaped me.

I wish the references had been maybe a little less easy to find. Eeesh.

It'll be interesting how you'll roleplay it when the Curate takes an instant dislike to the Elf...

You know, her being an unbaptizable Fair Folk spawn and all.

*evil grin*

For the record, no one's really sure what happens when a Half-Elf gets baptized, because to the best of anyone's knowledge, it's never happened.

They threatened to plunder our Elf's knickers. If you characterize that as slight provocation, I'd hate to see what you think fightin' words consist of.

True, but that's how I'd think of threats. If you've got the hand to beat mine, show it down.

We didn't have any time to work this out, but I would have feigned cowardice to let Kinfird think he had the initiative, and let him get just close enough for one of us to wound him badly. Begging for his life, he'd lie there until Nick motioned Kexy forward. Bhartec would hand Kexy a dagger, and she'd open his throat for him in view of his companions as she blew them a kiss. It's tough, but in no way does the Church condemn its supplicants for defending their brief lives on this earth.

His friends would scatter. One or two of them might talk about what happened, when they were drunk. We'd start building our reputation as people you just. Don't. Fuck. With.

The Church does frown on murder. Baiting someone into a situation that looks like self-defense does not mean it is self-defense. A show of force was enough. Your plan would have led us down the path to the dark side and my character has no interest is going evil... not yet anyway.

Bah, you Lawful lot, worrying about murder and self-defense and church rules...

Kexy's Neutral, so she'd just as soon let the Chaotic Bhartec trample to fool with his horse!

hehe

Oh, and let's not forget the offenders would have been wicked cultists, and the Curate did sort of give you permission to sack the temple...

Wink

Y'all should check this out if you get a chance:

An in-depth examination of just how bad, and in how many different ways, slings could fuck you up.
