Do you guys want to head to the ruins? If so, how do you want to handle it? Get the two sides to start fighting each other with more vigor, handle it ourselves? Any other possibilities?

Yeah, see, I think we'd be best off trying to turn them against each other. Lars isn't smart enough to think of this, though. I figure we go out there, Sleep a crew of them, kill them, maybe then call it a day. I don't want to get overwhelmed.

If we take some artifacts from one group and leave them at the scene of the next mass killing, they might blame each other. If we're sneaky enough.

I figured I'd post this in the OOC forum...

How many people need to carry torches?

Bhartec volunteered to carry one...and he's in the center of the party.

Marching order appears to be:

Divad, Lars, Bhartec, Kexy, Sinlocah.

While I haven't much of an issue with Kexy carrying a torch, she's also pretty good with the longbow she's carrying too...

I think we need to hire a horse-tender and torchbearer after we get some gold!

Wink

OD&D doesn't provide any guidance as to precise light radius or duration, so I just kind of eyeball it. Since you're currently in a fairly tight grouping, additional torches beyond are necessary only for redundancy purposes.

I didn't know the scale was short enough that we could just run back to town, else I likely would have forgone the horse. Anyhow, I think loosely tieing up the horse nearby would be sufficient for now. A Light War Horse is probably far stronger than we are at the moment so I don't have too much fear about something getting it.

Well, see, no. You ride the warhorse, because it's actually a better fighter than any of us are, in some respects.

Sure. Hoof (1d6), Hoof (1d6), Bite (1d4), Trample (1d10), Tail (1d4-1) and if you live through that, Splatter (10' rear cone, 1d4+loss of pride).

Unfortunately, in the days before stat inflation, the horse gets a couple HD and a single attack for 1d6 like everyone else, rather than being a rocket-powered ogre.

Updates will all be in the evenings or early mornings this week ... a colleague has taken the week off and I find my dance card a bit full.

Below the other forums, you should now see a private forum for your character. If you don't see it, or if you see one for a character other than yours, please let me know.

This forum is for "private" player-to-DM conversation. As Nathan has pointed out, it's a lot easier to keep track of such things for posterity by thread than by private messaging history. If you have anything "in town" or otherwise that you'd like to do that isn't group business, please let me know in the appropriate forum.

Hey everyone!

For those of us without access to the little brown books, here's a link to their content online: http://www.dadsdnd.com/

The site is apparently quite old...and WOTC has reputedly known about it for a LONG time without making it disappear.

So, it's probably safe to say they are uninterested in removing it.

Is that giving consent by default?

Use it if you want.
