[We may want to come up with a group leader so we have someone as a caller when we need to move on for a final group decision. Nick's PC has the highest Charisma so I'm leaning towards him. Good idea?]
Bhartec will ride next to Lars, when he is ready heading to the tower. |

To reach Sligma's Tower, pass east out of Tegel, past the village's own great ancient Watchtower, and follow the East Road.
You will pass Baladar's Hovel, and on up the hillock towards the Temple of Nivatopredi. Within spitting distance of the Temple -- cross yourself -- take the left fork and pass the Scudwood to your south -- do not enter that place! -- and through the broken stones where once stood the Keep of Pagan Barfalgas.
At the next fork, go left, crost the Darnby Creek at the bridge, to the forgotten Runstibble Thorp. From that forsaken place, you stand perhaps sixty paces from the hill of Sligma's Tower to the northeast.
[If you look at the Player's Map at http://themarches.netfreehost.com/viewtopic.php?t=3 and follow those directions, you'll see the Tower over on the coast.] _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

[Well, I guess that's our plan, then. I'm cool with having a caller, as well.] |

"We're off to see the Wizard then!" Kexy exhorts.
"Could we stop by my Da's place on the way? I have to pick up a few things I'll need to keep you lot from getting speared by a gnoll." |

Sinlocah suddenly gets a very serious look on his face. "This is probably the furthest from the village most of us have been in some time. Remember your militia training, keep each others' backs covered and we should be fine. Know that The One True God goes with us."
[After this little bit of uncharacteristic melodrama, Sinlocah heads off on the road leading east.] |

With his sling loosely wrapped around his wrist, Divad walks four or five paces behind and to the right of Sinlocah.
"I'll watch to the south," he says. |

Using the vantage point on the horse Bhartec will keep an eye out for potential problems. I'm assuming we are going to Kexy's abode then straight for the tower. |

[If you're picking anything up other than adventuring gear at Kexy's house, let me know. Otherwise, I'll update here shortly.] _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

[Just picking up the standard adventuring gear...]
Kexy walks along amidst the men, her bow strung, but carried casually and loosely.
The men seem nervous, but she's walked these roads before. Although she occasionally slips on a stray stone [damn her clumsy feet!], the road is familiar and she occasionally points out interesting natural formations (like the tree where Old Mags reputedly was hanged as a witch a century ago). |

Your little clique proceeds to the northeast periphery of the village, where stands the Watchtower. Despite its name, this somber silent fortification does nothing to enhance the vigilance of living Tegel, for none in living memory have entered its strangely-carved circumference, nor breached its curious agate doors -- though not for lack of trying, for seasonally, some barmy local or passing sell-sword thinks to clobber an ingress with maul or mattock, invariably concluding that the portals look best as they now hang and ever have, utterly unmarred and unchipped.
Taking the East Road, you pass fenced field and pasture, noting that the thoroughfare is trod to mud today, for others than yourselves have heeded the Curate's call ... you stride out, Bhartec's good horse riding apace, and shortly reach Baladar's Hovel, where the eponymous Ranger (who, it is said, can talk to beasts) watches from his ill-hung doorway, his grizzled wolfhound regarding you with its great grey head resting upon its paws.
"Men," he greets you. "Lady," he adds cautiously. "Lot of folk about." _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

"Hello, Ranger!" Kexy salutes the woodsman. "How are you this fine Spring day?" |

"Greetings, well met. Curate Valcerdies has given an edict to cleanse this land of its foulness. We are headed to try our hand at just that. You may join us if you wish. Your company would certainly be a great help." |

"I do not complain, Fair Lady," the weather-beaten Ranger cagily replies. He glances down at his hound, and, seeing no discomfiture on the part of the beast, relaxes somewhat.

"I wish you luck, Brother Sinlocah, for there is much foulness in the land, indeed, mayhap more than your Curate Valcerdies knows! But old men do not reach that state by tramping the wilds on Clerics' errands.
"Where are you bound? Surely you do not mean to Crusade against the Temple on the hill? Your path takes you close by that place, as it does others." He strokes his gray beard, pausing to dislodge a louse. _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

"We seek the knowledge of the Wizard near the cliffs, if he is willing."
*If not his spell book should do nicely* |
