[Lars supposedly gave the torch to Bhartec a while back, but since Bhartec was slinking around in the shadows, I assume he didn't intend to keep it. Someone might want to light one up.] _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

"Bhartec. Bring up the torch and keep your spell handy."
Ymmas slings his shield over his shoulder, and hefts a loaded crossbow.
"Let's make short work of this, before these little bastards find help." |

Lars stands with blood-splattered armor and axes once his butchery is done. He then aids Bhartec in quickly riffling through their possessions.
[There isn't anything along the lines of a chest overflowing with gold in this room, is there? Failing that, he's more than ready to lead the charge once more.] |

[The gnolls do have assorted gold and silver coins of unfamiliar mint, stamped with the profile likeness of a man.]
The chamber beyond the double doors is filthy and appears to have been used as a guardpost and general squat. A quick survey indicates no other exits.
From beyond the secret door up the north passage wafts the now-familiar stench of bat guano. _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

"Should we chase the archers? Or drag the corpses in here and then follow?" |

Lars shrugs. "Corpses are dead. Archers are live." He indicates by gesture and action that he's more interested in pursuit.
[I think we're taking those coins, as well.] |

Bhartec will putter around behind Lars, estimating what distance another spike trap may have and staying at least that far behind him. |

Beyond the secret door is an irregularly shaped chamber with a door on its western wall; the secret door is on its eastern wall. Shattered marble debris lies here and there, and a fair number of bats flutter away at your approach.
Writhing on the floor are about a dozen very large centipedes -- after your initial shock, you ascertain that their heads have been removed. Two hollowed out centipede husks lie nearby as well, as do the excised heads.
Close inspection reveals a few spots of blackish blood on the floor, and a small puddle of what appears to be vomit. _________________ The penalty for success is to be bored by the people who used to snub you. |

Kexy will scan the room's perimeter to see if anything unusual strikes her about the walls.
[You know, like if her Elf-sense tingles at a secret door. ] |
