Bhartec will cover his face and arms with his cloak, hunker down and wait out the bat-storm.

Lars puts one hand out against the wall, and stumbles back along it, attempting to shelter in one of the other archways.

[This may be irrelevant in a world with spells and dragons in it, but bats won't actually get caught in your hair. I've seen this debunked on documentary television.]

[Well, Lars hardly has to worry anyway.]

[Where's Ozzy Osbourne when you need him?]

Kexy will hunker down in the fetal position until the bats settle down.

After what seems like an eternity of hunkering, and pulling the torchboy away from the north archway, the bat-storm subsides, and the little nuisances return, for the most part, to their perches, though they still rustle and flutter irritably, and a few still smack around the chamber.

Lars motions toward the left archway, which he's huddled in with his helmet pulled down. "Let's try this way."

The left arch leads west to about a dozen-foot wide passageway or chamber that extends perhaps two dozen feet before ending in a flat wall. A few bits of stone debris are scattered about the dead end.

The faded paintings on the walls depict a variety of heroic or godly men and women in alien garb hunting from chariots, contesting at arms, or otherwise disporting themselves as epic figures are wont to do. The original purpose of the passage or chamber is not immediately obvious.

Lars walks up to the dead end and eyes it suspiciously, then taps it a few times with the back of an axe. Then he rears back, tenses up, and gives it a mighty kick.

Ymmas looks up for movement, and his crossbow follows his eyes.

[Your attempts at percussive inquiry yield the results one would normally expect from kicking a stone wall.]

Lars picks himself up off his ass and brushes the dust from his armor. "Yep. Real one. Real wall." He shrugs. "Other way?"
