[No problem. As soon as my wife gets up from her nap, I will get the scanner out and provide one.]

[You are very likely to get speared in the face if you attempt to close a set of open double doors while 3 spearmen are standing just inside. Not saying you can't do it, just that you surmise the chances of you being done ill are fairly high, and it is by no means a certain thing if they decide they'd like to interfere.]

Sinlocah will lead the party (since he is in the back) across the chasm and past the trap door.

[No pointies. Sad]

Your assemblage -- upon hearing the bellowing harbinger of the impending arrival of what is, no doubt, something rather unpleasant -- settles upon a controlled but brisk withdrawal as the next tactical maneuver. You backpedal out of the reach of the spearmen's points, then turn and run, Devil take the hindmost, as a horrible twisted thing gambols into sight from its cloister.

The vaguely man-like creature is naked save a filthy loincloth which ill-conceals its unspeakable nether parts, and would stand at least 7' tall were it to stand up, but its spine is corkscrewed and misshapen so that its vertebrae stretch its skin; one of its lower legs is grotesquely swollen with fluid or fat such that it is as thick as a tree trunk. By way of compensation, the thing moves ape-like on all fours -- its ropy arm muscles and splayed hands dragging it forward with unexpected speed as its good leg pushes and stabilizes and its malformed leg drags behind. It seems to be trying to make words, but emits only a guttural vocalization somewhere between moan and roar.

You gingerly but quickly step your way around the perimeter of the open trapdoor, where darkness and rushing water await ... Sinlocah and Kexy teeter and almost fall ... and the thing, barreling headlong down the corridor, spots the aperture too late. It groans and tries to slow down, then tries to leap, but the die is cast, its moment of brutish indecision its undoing ... failing to entirely clear the trapdoor, its huge hands grip the edge nearest you, white-knuckled, as it tries to lift itself up from the brink.

[Are any other guards following? Maybe we should hack the thing's fingers off!]

[Didn't the fallen Divad have a sling? What happened to his stuff? The sling is an OD&D cleric's best friend.]

[The guards are following cautiously, spears poised to throw.]

Lars laughs hugely and screams "REECKOOONNNIIIIIINNNNG!" His hands find the hafts of his axes, and he sets to hewing at the creature's knuckles, even while he hocks gobbets of phlegm down onto its visage. "Kexy! Magic the guards! Put them to sleep! Lars will throw them all down! In the pit!"

[Oh, and it appears a fourth guard has joined the original 3.]

[The Wyz read my mind...]

When the guards are close to the party, Kexy incants the Charm of Spontaneous Somnation to enspell the 4 guards and perhaps the hideous abomination floundering on the edge of the pit.

[Right, forgot. Can't shed blood. Clerics can use blunt objects to pulp an enemy's liver, but they can't draw blood while they are doing it... How silly.]

Sinlocah will provide what cover he can from the Spearmen while Lars takes care of the beastie.
