[Kexy does not detect any secret portals other than the one through which you just passed.

Listening at the door indicates that there is an assload of angry bats losing their shit on the other side.

Tomorrow, I will post a map of your exploration so far.]

[Let me know if you're heading through the door into what sounds like an agitated bat swarm. I didn't mean for my last post to imply that I wouldn't be posting until tomorrow, I just won't be posting a map until tomorrow.]

[Lars, for one, would prefer not to have to deal with any more bats.]

[Seconded. Let's loot and run, and hope we're rich enough to hire a little cannon fodder.]

[Smart call. We finally got some actual moneys, lets not fuck this up by getting killed.

Scott: How much coinage are we talking about? A handfull? Five handfuls? what? I know we don't have time to count, and Lars probably couldn't even if he had time.]

[A few dozen. Still haven't hit the mother lode.

If there are no objections, I'm actually planning to advance each PC to 2nd level upon return to town. This will lead to a disparity in XP totals, but I don't think that's a huge deal. Because of PBP pacing, I'll probably advance PCs a bit quicker than by-the-book through the lower levels.]

Bhartec will lop off a couple Gnoll heads and bring them to town. Hopefully as a distraction to the missing orphan.

[Once in town Bhartec will attempt to find a suitable replacement for the torchbearer. Out of work bum, survivor from a previous group, another soon-to-be-forgotten orphan, etc. Charmed of course.]

[Are you taking the orphan's corpse back with you for ceremonial burning?]

[I think we should, unless the body poses some compelling threat between now and the estimated time of arrival.]

[If no one tells me different by late tonight, I'll assume he's being taken back, then lock this thread and open a new one.]
